The Child Care Network provides training and professional development workshops and conferences for providers, and networking and recognition opportunities, including:

Early Childhood Conference – SAVE THE DATE! The 2010 annual fall conference will be held on November 12th and 13th, 2010 at the Six Flags Great Escape Lodge and Indoor Waterpark. Friday Keynote Speaker: Jeanine Fitzgerald; Saturday Keynote Speaker: Diane Craft, PhD. Full Conference Registration Fees are as follows: Prior to October 15: $130 Members; $150 Non Members; After October 15: $140 Members; $160 Non Members. Conference Brochure and Registration materials will be available mid September.

SUNY Sponsored Videoconferences – The Child Care Network is the local facilitation site for SUNY Videoconferences. Classes are held at the Washington County Municipal Center, Building B. Eleven programs are anticipated in 2009, beginning in February. Classes fill up quickly, so early online registration is recommended, as soon as opportunities are posted at
www.tsg.suny.edu.

Guest Lecture Series – The Guest Lecture Series is held in the spring of each year. This six-week series covers 15 hours of training, including the nine Office of Children and Family Services required training categories. Check back for 2011 dates.

Child Development Associate (CDA) training program –
Click here (PDF document) for an overview of this National Credentialing Program that focuses on the skills of early care and education professionals. A Child Development Associate is a person who completes the training program and the assessment process, and has been awarded the CDA Credential. Persons with CDA Credentials have demonstrated the ability to meet the specific needs of children, work with parents and other adults, and promote and nurture children’s social, emotional, physical and intellectual growth in a child development program. The next anticipated start date for this yearlong program is January 2011..

New York State Health and Safety Training Programs – A 15-hour competency-based course that is required for anyone wishing to open a family or group family child care program. The cost for the program is $235, which is reimbursable for those required to attend, after receipt of day care license or registration from New York State Office of Children and Family Services. The next class is scheduled for Tuesdays and Thursdays, September 21 & 23 and 28 & 30 from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm. Please contact us for registration information at 798-7972 or via email

- Medication Administration Training – A skill-based eight-hour training program required by the Office of Children and Family Services. Successful completion is the first step towards being authorized to administer medications, other than over the counter topical ointments.
