CACFP Nutrition & Civil Rights Training in Queensbury NY

All providers are required to complete one Nutrition and one Civil Rights training per year. These trainings are offered at no cost to providers who are enrolled in the CACFP. The nutrition training can be used toward meeting the Office of Children and Family Services training requirements as listed in the regulations.

Make Mine Breast Feeding Friendly

Child care providers are one of the most important resources for working and nursing mothers. Parents see and talk to their children’s care givers every day. Their encouragement and support is vital!

To learn more about how child care providers can support and encourage breastfeeding families, and to obtain or renew a Breast Feeding Friendly (BFF) designation, please access the link to the New York State Department of Health “Make Mine Breast Feeding Friendly” Training.

After viewing the 30 minute training, please submit the certificate of completion and the completed self- assessment form to the Southern Adirondack Child Care Network.

Obesity Prevention Training

Approximately 17% of children and adolescents aged 2-19 years are obese. Child care providers are in a unique position to educate parents about healthy eating and activity habits, and also to provide a healthy environment for children to eat, play, and grow.

Thirty on Thursdays Webinars

Monthly training webinars on hot topics related to CACFP Meal Pattern Requirements.  A new training is released every third Thursday of the month. You can sign up for one of the new trainings or view a previous training from the archives.  Attending two thirty minute trainings will fulfill the yearly CACFP requirement.  A printed copy of the certificate of completion will need to be submitted to us so that we may document this in your file if you choose this option to meet your annual CACFP training requirement.
