Series of 3 hands-on; in-person sessions – The cost is $150 for all three sessions and providers may apply for scholarships to cover the cost.

April 24th, 2025 6:00-8:00 pm , Lauren Cohen and Chris Stack Community Café III: Managing the day: Rotating materials, balancing routine and novelty
April 10th, 2025 6:00-8:00 pm, Lauren Cohen and Chris Stack Community Café I: The fixed environment (indoors and outside): Defining spaces
Join SACCN as we host the Wonder Room for their Community Café Series. These three in-person sessions will highlight in-depth discussions that will inspire your work with young children. Hosted at 16 Pearl Street Glens Falls, NY These sessions will include videos, photos and hands-on activities to spark thoughtful dialogue regarding your role as an educator. The series will delve deeper into how we prepare for and plan an engaging environment, considerations when developing relationships with children and families, and how we watch, record and reflect on each child’s development. Lauren Cohen (Wonder Room, Creative Director and Regional Coordinator for NYS Pyramid Model) and Chris Stack (Wonder Room, Education Director) will guide participants through each 2 – hour Community Café Series.
THESE SESSIONS WIL MEET OCFS TRAINING TOPIC AREAS: (1) principles of childhood development, focusing on the developmental stages of the age groups for which the program provides care (3) child day care program development (7) statutes and regulations pertaining to child day care
