The social world can be complicated and complex. Some children are at greater risk of being neglected or rejected by their peers. Those with social vulnerability can struggle with many challenges, including but not limited to shyness, social anxiety, and withdrawal. This session examines the many faces of social vulnerability and how we can empower them with the needed skills to master the three social missions: friendship, popularity, and politics.


1. To examine the concept of social vulnerability and the underlying challenges.

2. To design research-based and field-tested approaches to the five types of social vulnerability.
